My brother shared this with me tonight, as we prepare for our Dad’s funeral:

I was talking to friend of mine whose father died a few years ago and I told him when I was a boy, my dad was my hero. He knew everything and he could do anything. Somewhere along the way, he became the reason for everything that was wrong in the world, he knew nothing and he could do nothing. I am so grateful that we both lived long enough for him to have become my hero again.

People call the field/sea/energy different things – and everyone has come to envision their experience of it in their own way, based in how they have been taught/ how they have chosen for themselves how to see it, experience it, be with it.I am noticing that the way many are looking at it/ interacting with it – no matter what way that is – it is not effective or useful or helpful for that which we say we want to experience.

Why do I say that? Look around at that which you experience everyday. Is it what you say you are choosing? Listen to people speak of their lives, of the world: are they speaking as if they are experiencing a world of their choosing?

Have you consciously addressed that which you are choosing?

WE create our experiences. We create what we call our future. We create everything we are calling our experience. This may sound crazy – it may sound harsh: We Are Making It All Up!

Everything we see around us – what is going on in our families, our communities, our world – WE – each and every single ONE of us – individually and collectively – we have created/ are creating everything we are experiencing. WE ARE MAKING IT ALL UP.

On this planet, in this universe, using physical bodies, or not using physical bodies: WE EACH/ WE ALL ARE RESPONSIBLE for what we are experiencing.

And if we are not LOVING it, if we are not IN JOY with it, if it is not what we say we are choosing, what we would choose — then it is time to look anew at what we are DOING, and how we are BEING –> and Choose Anew!

Notice that where your focus is, your power goes. If you are focused on what you think you are not experiencing, or focusing on how you feel about other people’s experiences, thinking those experiences are nothing like what you are experiencing – then that is what you are manifesting for your experience. That’s where you are flowing your power.

Is that really what you intend to be focused on?

Everything we do – every choice we make, every thought we sustain, flows from our basic premise in life. Most people have simply adopted the basic life premise of the people with whom/ by whom they were raised, with perhaps a few little adjustments here or there, growing up.

What do I mean by basic premise? I am speaking about the mindsets and beliefs we accept, often without question, to be true. It is these beliefs that then form the basis of how we interpret the experiences we call life.

“Life sucks and then you die.” “God wants us to suffer, so we can be rewarded in heaven.” “Life is about repaying karmic debts.” “Earth is a school for learning, and making mistakes.” “It is human nature to be cruel.” “It is better to give than to receive.” “Don’t show emotion, it is unseemly.” “No one likes change. Change is hard.” “Life is suffering.” “Anything worth having is worth suffering for.”

We could go on with this list forever and never record all the different premises people use to base their lives and life choices on. The point is this – WHAT YOU BELIEVE DETERMINES WHAT YOU PERCEIVE. What you perceive influences the meaning you decide to place upon your experiences, and the life choices you make, from there.

What do you believe about Life, Love, Self and God?
How is that shaping the choices you make in your life?
How is it working for you?
