The conversation started with the observation that education – as a system, as an institution, really, as anything useful, effective and beneficial at all – is broken.

My response: do not try to fix or repair that which is not serving us most beneficially.

So if education is broken, let us NOT fix it. Let’s create education, anew.

I’m not talking about wiping the slate clean. I’m saying throw the slate out and hit the re-set button. Heck, get rid of the machine analogies altogether,  and begin anew, organically.

To begin anew, it helps to be clear about what we are looking to accomplish. And it will be most beneficial to throw out the ideas of what we think anything should be or should look like, or how it always has been done.  And simply look at, with brand new eyes and open minds and hearts the basic concepts about education that we have been holding as true; why do we have those concepts? Do they serve us?
Well, how do we determine what serves us?
We need to look at what we are choosing to accomplish by what we call education.
What’s the successful “end result” of “education”?

And I’m even saying, don’t just ASSUME we need an “educational system”.  Can we wash our minds so clear of what we have been exposed to and have come to hold as true, that we can question if an established system or institutions are the most effective way to accomplish that which we come to identify as the purpose of education?

Then, having examined those notions, begin anew.

Who’s in on the conversation?

If you’re on Twitter – join in the conversation with #eib – another education oriented line of convo is #lrn -  see you there!

It does the WORLD no good, if I perpetuate hate, aggitation and hurtfulness.

If I say I want to live i n a world of peace, love and joy – yet what I think, say and do are hurtful, mean, hateful or judgmental – then *I* am the one *denying* the world of the peace and love and joy I say I want.  *I* am the one *creating* strife, pain and hatred.

Nothing changes until I recognize that and I change HOW I AM BEing in the world.

An important piece (the only real piece?) of my role in peace, is how I am being, with my self.  If I realize I am being harsh or unkind towards someone or something, then remember I am choosing peace, I can choose what to do, next. I can celebrate joyfully that I reminded myself, and move forward in peace again. But if I go about harshly judging myself, thinking hurtful thoughts about myself for being harsh on someone else — then I am STILL not being peace!

What I think to myself, what I think OF myself, MATTERS!  It is the very basis of how I go on to treat and be with others – individually and collectively.

If I think hateful or hurtful thoughts of myself, when I say “I Love You” – what is that idea/ understanding of Love based in/ on??

If my basic, most innermost perspective is hurt-filled or hate-full, then how loving can my experiences and my expressions be? All of my experiences and expressions (thoughts, words, actions, the energy I exude, my emotions) – they will always be FRAMED by the hurt and the hate.

If I want to see LOVE in the world – I must be Love, be loving with my self.

*THIS* is Being the Change I seek in the world.

You know the song that goes “Let There Be PEACE on Earth – And Let it Begin With ME?”

Well guess what? Peace DOES begin with me: Each “me” of us “we,” here!!

When I find myself with an angry or frustrated thought about why can’t this world be a more peaceful, loving, joyful place – woops! I realize that *MY* angry frustration is adding to what I say I do not want – and preventing the experience I say I am choosing.

There are event and situation that occur, that, well, simply, suck.  The invitation, as I see it, is to show up to those events, IN PEACE. IN LOVE. is it crazy? IN JOY.

Because HOW we are being in the midst of horrible events, can add to the horribleness – OR – shift the experience towards LOVE.

I choose LOVE.

Anybody with me?

Most of the books & articles I have read about changing social structures – you know, for “change” – actually describe more of what we’ve been doing for centuries, that we know does not work, proclaim to know is not working, and that it must change. But what many, if not most (trying to think of an example of why not All – “I’ll have to get back to ya on that!”) people are using the same thought process, just using a different language to describe it as if it were something new.

What’s the supposed Einstein quote people like to use: you can’t solve a problem from the same perspective that created the problem. OK, wildly paraphrased, perhaps. (I should go look it up & get it right – remind me later, ok?)

But it serves as my segue to this: NOTHING will elicit genuine change until we release our attachment to our old ideas about how things are/ must be.

A new process arises when we decide what we are choosing to experience, and then envision anew each individual choice we make to have that experience.

BUT EVEN THAT doesn’t work, won’t work, can’t work – until we CHANGE HOW WE ARE BE-ing.

The authentic self flow is: BE -> DO -> HAVE.

Who we truly are is the basis of all we experience. Next is the layer of HOW we are be-ing – which is dependent upon who we think we Are.

What we think, what we believe, determines what our experience will be.

Too often, people holding themselves out to be thought-leaders (or, help us all, evangelists)are simply presenting yet another model, based on re-vamps of previous models, of how we have come to determine that things/ life/ business/ social structures occur / should/ must occur.

Ideas based on prior models and previous understandings, but presented differently enough to stand out, to cause people to notice, to create a stir, and some conversation around it.

And having these conversations is not a bad thing ~ it can invite further insights and even action. But when the framework is still just flirting with thinking about having these glorious thoughts – it doesn’t get us where it is most beneficial and useful for us to be, in order to accomplish what we say we are choosing.

As long we are basing our thinking and assumptions in separation consciousness, NOTHING in our experience will change.

I’m so over being enamored of the conversation and gathering data and using scientific methods to try to prove or disprove blah-blah-blah. Scientific methods have been created to prove the (insane) separation-based way we have decided to view the world/ the universe/ existence.

I now choose be-ing in Oneness Consiousness. I AM.

And one of these days we really  need to examine what it is we think we’re doing with all those  “in-tensions” people keep setting….

Nothing changes as long as we are mired in and determined to hang onto separation consciousness as our reference point.

It is only in coming from the Point of Oneness/ Oneness Consciousness that we can shift out of this crazy mess (our declaration!) we have created. Individually and collectively.

I’m exhausted by theorists and their “paradigm-shifting” perspectives that are no more than more noise in the cacophony of chaos.

And I am way over the idea that we *must* have chaos in order to shift. Have you noticed? Chaos has been soooo done. We don’t need to keep doing it, or do it again, or perfect it (unless, of course, that’s what you’re here for… then go to it, I guess…)

Yeah, well this has been a rant. After I get some sleep, no doubt I’ll come and edit the heck out of this post – but I’m posting it as is, for now -

And in the Now, I choose the transfiguration, the transcendency illumination. Now let’s accept our Oneness and create our experience Anew. In the Peace and Joy and Love and Delight we say we choose.

What would happen if we motivated ourselves from a joy of/for life, rather than from fear/ resistance/ anger?

The energy we put into our efforts, our thoughts and emotions as we go about what we are doing, is the very same energy that emanates/ expands/ spreads from what we have created.

If we put the energy of frenzy and fear and anger into what we are creating – be it an event, a business, a work of art, dinner – anything – then those are the energies that emanate from that creation. Those are the energies people will respond to when they interact with that creation.

We can decide & choose to create from Love, Joy, Peace (since that’s what most people say they want to experience).

What would happen, if each of us, as an individual, made that choice, and followed up and followed through with that choice, living our lives?

Am I out of my mind? You betchya! :)
