January 2009

The conversation started with the observation that education – as a system, as an institution, really, as anything useful, effective and beneficial at all – is broken.

My response: do not try to fix or repair that which is not serving us most beneficially.

So if education is broken, let us NOT fix it. Let’s create education, anew.

I’m not talking about wiping the slate clean. I’m saying throw the slate out and hit the re-set button. Heck, get rid of the machine analogies altogether,  and begin anew, organically.

To begin anew, it helps to be clear about what we are looking to accomplish. And it will be most beneficial to throw out the ideas of what we think anything should be or should look like, or how it always has been done.  And simply look at, with brand new eyes and open minds and hearts the basic concepts about education that we have been holding as true; why do we have those concepts? Do they serve us?
Well, how do we determine what serves us?
We need to look at what we are choosing to accomplish by what we call education.
What’s the successful “end result” of “education”?

And I’m even saying, don’t just ASSUME we need an “educational system”.  Can we wash our minds so clear of what we have been exposed to and have come to hold as true, that we can question if an established system or institutions are the most effective way to accomplish that which we come to identify as the purpose of education?

Then, having examined those notions, begin anew.

Who’s in on the conversation?

If you’re on Twitter – join in the conversation with #eib – another education oriented line of convo is #lrn -  see you there!

It would help to differentiate “starting anew” from fixing what has not been working – and arguably never did. (But why argue?)

Starting A-New indicates: a different approach, fresh thinking, creating new experiences for new and different outcomes (among other things). Fixing is NOT one of them. Creating anew IS.

It is important to be willing to make conscious determinations as to how we are choosing to have and express a thought. Then, having had/expressed the thought, how are we NOW proceeding, and why. When we become more adept and accustomed to the process of functioning anew, then we settle into functioning Naturally ~ as is our true Nature.

In this process of inviting an A-New process, it is really an invitation to functioning Naturally in TRUTH ~ as is our true nature.

To many, it seems like those we call Angels have no choice. That is not so. In the universe, Choice is at cause. Choice is a given for ALL and simply must be ~ or Life/Love could not be what is truly is.

Angels, other highly evolved  Beings, and those of us who choose to own  and embrace that we are enlightened when  we say we are, recognize who we  All truly are. Once one determines that  ONE-ness/We Are ONE is the A-New Process of choice, then functioning Naturally is likened to a fish who can fly, be on land without  gasping for air, but prefers spending most of its time in the water.  That flying Fish has a choice. The water is where it chooses to frolic and create outcomes that even at times could call for going on land and or flying. All the while though, the Fish is having fun, acting in and with deliberate conscious consciousness/ONE-ness.

So how do we function if we are not fixing anything, not righting wrongs, and not in pursuit of “doing” what’s right, or opposing what we have been complaining about?

We open our hearts and minds to bring forth of ourselves to ourselves, the wisdom of functioning A-New in the comforts of ONE-ness. This is where we also demonstrate taking responsibility for how we live.  No one can tell you what it feels like or how it is to be. This is an experience of your own making as you come to your own remembrances of YOU/the ONE of us. Others can share their experiences, share pointers, make references and offer invitations to you about We Are ONE, but you get to experience first hand how it is for you, being our natural SELF, naturally.

We can also call the process of acting A-New as remembering and being that which you remember about you from within you. Next, it is the process of EASY/Ease and Grace. To really appreciate Easy/Ease and Grace, is to give up on “fixing” and move into the process of Life supporting life of which you are and a part of and not apart from. Life in Truth is about the grace of ease/the grace in “ease.”  In hardship, we try to fix things. That is the separation consciousness way of living, and we often mistakenly say this is how life is. In functioning A-New, ease is the new attraction, the new energy, the new excitement. Ease and Grace is how you now act without having to think about it, because it is about BEING the flow of life and being in the flow of your conscious awareness,  naturally.

By default (of which there is no fault involved),  we are, (without fault!) Beings of what we now refer to as Light.  As Beings of Light, we are invited to be light, so that we can Do/Act in Light, and Have ever-lasting experiences of pure light of which words cannot explain and care not to try, but the words lend themselves to point to the Ease and Grace for our ever- expanding experiences of light/flow/ease and grace/who  we truly are.

When we are not busy or otherwise fixing or trying to fix, we can easily get out of the fix/fixes we have brought about for the experiences we next chose. This is now. Let us, by our own free willingness, be here and now in the moment of NOW, liberate our selves from trying to fix ourselves and everything in sight and embrace a new approach. One of, acting in a way that is beneficial to one’s self and every  person, place, and thing seen and yet to be seen. WE ARE ONE. Because we are one, there is no one or no-thing to fix, including one’s self, but only to remember the natural SELF and BE that way,  all ways and always.

Love to us All.

Separation consciousness is the way we function when we believe that we are separate and apart from the source of creation and all aspects of the creator, i.e. creation. Separation consciousness is the mindsets and beliefs that cause us to see the world as existing only in opposites and extremes, a state of constant battle: good/ bad; right/ wrong; positive/ negative. Choosing to view the world and life this way promotes internal and external wars.
We form judgments about things we label as those opposites, and decide that people who do not agree with our judgments are wrong, and label them opponents, whom we must fight against. (yeah, yeah, I know, Never end a sentence a preposition with. whatever!)
But, hey: if everything arises from the same One Magnificent Source of Light/ Love – then how is any aspect of that creation less than any other aspect of creation? Why would we treat life that way?

Humans (that’s us, you and me, claim your responsibility!) have made choices (& keep making choices) which have created what we are now experiencing on this planet. If we don’t like how it’s going, if it’s not bringing us joy, we have the power to make choice to create something that works more effectively, more joyfully, more peacefully, for the benefit of all of Life.

Would you be willing to make that choice?

What would happen if the judgments we have been holding, we just decided to release; and we opened to what works, most effectively for the benefit of all of Life, and let go of what does not work; let go of right v. wrong; let go of warring as a way of human interactions?

Could we come to the table, devoid of preconceived judgments and biases, in our peaceful discernment and share our ideas to create anew, what works most effectively for the benefit of Life.

“Peace on Earth in Our Lifetime”

Do we notice what visuals we give ourselves when we think/say that?
Who are we seeing, being peaceful? Is it “everyone else”? What is our part in it?

Peace begins and ends with SELF.

I see that the “way to Peace” is bringing forth the Peace of the Source of my Being, as my Being, in every aspect of my Being, in every moment of Now.

The focus, based in the premise of One-ness, is “How am I Being, Now? “- Am I Peace? If I am Peace, if I am Peace-full, then I am doing my part. Am I other than Peace, other than peace-full? Then all the focus of “peace” at/ towards/ for anyone or anything else, is not going to accomplish what it is I am saying I am choosing, when I say I choose “Peace on Earth.”

I notice that thinking about contributing to Peace by “fighting” or “being against” or “resisting,” or basing thoughts of Peace in opposition to anything, or as a “Peaceful WARrior” — ALL OF THOSE THOUGHTS are based in the premise of war and fighting —- NOT in the Premise of the Oneness of Peace.

Peace comes from Peace, not from the suppression of, or fight against, or resistance to, war.

Until this is recognized, acknowledged and accepted for and with one’s self, and until the distractions over “it’s only words” and “that’s just semantics” are let go & released, PEACE has been sidestepped, yet again.

What are you thinking and feeling and visioning in the moments of your day?

What, then are you choosing, how are you showing up?

How, then, are you being, now?

Notice that where your focus is, your power goes. If you are focused on what you think you are not experiencing, or focusing on how you feel about other people’s experiences, thinking those experiences are nothing like what you are experiencing – then that is what you are manifesting for your experience. That’s where you are flowing your power.

Is that really what you intend to be focused on?

Everything we do – every choice we make, every thought we sustain, flows from our basic premise in life. Most people have simply adopted the basic life premise of the people with whom/ by whom they were raised, with perhaps a few little adjustments here or there, growing up.

What do I mean by basic premise? I am speaking about the mindsets and beliefs we accept, often without question, to be true. It is these beliefs that then form the basis of how we interpret the experiences we call life.

“Life sucks and then you die.” “God wants us to suffer, so we can be rewarded in heaven.” “Life is about repaying karmic debts.” “Earth is a school for learning, and making mistakes.” “It is human nature to be cruel.” “It is better to give than to receive.” “Don’t show emotion, it is unseemly.” “No one likes change. Change is hard.” “Life is suffering.” “Anything worth having is worth suffering for.”

We could go on with this list forever and never record all the different premises people use to base their lives and life choices on. The point is this – WHAT YOU BELIEVE DETERMINES WHAT YOU PERCEIVE. What you perceive influences the meaning you decide to place upon your experiences, and the life choices you make, from there.

What do you believe about Life, Love, Self and God?
How is that shaping the choices you make in your life?
How is it working for you?

It does the WORLD no good, if I perpetuate hate, aggitation and hurtfulness.

If I say I want to live i n a world of peace, love and joy – yet what I think, say and do are hurtful, mean, hateful or judgmental – then *I* am the one *denying* the world of the peace and love and joy I say I want.  *I* am the one *creating* strife, pain and hatred.

Nothing changes until I recognize that and I change HOW I AM BEing in the world.

An important piece (the only real piece?) of my role in peace, is how I am being, with my self.  If I realize I am being harsh or unkind towards someone or something, then remember I am choosing peace, I can choose what to do, next. I can celebrate joyfully that I reminded myself, and move forward in peace again. But if I go about harshly judging myself, thinking hurtful thoughts about myself for being harsh on someone else — then I am STILL not being peace!

What I think to myself, what I think OF myself, MATTERS!  It is the very basis of how I go on to treat and be with others – individually and collectively.

If I think hateful or hurtful thoughts of myself, when I say “I Love You” – what is that idea/ understanding of Love based in/ on??

If my basic, most innermost perspective is hurt-filled or hate-full, then how loving can my experiences and my expressions be? All of my experiences and expressions (thoughts, words, actions, the energy I exude, my emotions) – they will always be FRAMED by the hurt and the hate.

If I want to see LOVE in the world – I must be Love, be loving with my self.

*THIS* is Being the Change I seek in the world.

You know the song that goes “Let There Be PEACE on Earth – And Let it Begin With ME?”

Well guess what? Peace DOES begin with me: Each “me” of us “we,” here!!

When I find myself with an angry or frustrated thought about why can’t this world be a more peaceful, loving, joyful place – woops! I realize that *MY* angry frustration is adding to what I say I do not want – and preventing the experience I say I am choosing.

There are event and situation that occur, that, well, simply, suck.  The invitation, as I see it, is to show up to those events, IN PEACE. IN LOVE. is it crazy? IN JOY.

Because HOW we are being in the midst of horrible events, can add to the horribleness – OR – shift the experience towards LOVE.

I choose LOVE.

Anybody with me?

What people tend to choose as their usual level of awareness relegates much of their awareness to what they call “unconscious.” By inviting one’s self to, and sustaining one’s self in, a fuller awareness, one is “conscious” of one’s consciousness, consciously.

In this moment, whether it is a split second or the sustained moment of one’s multidimensional life experiences – the joy of One, Love, Being, is real-ized.

This Oneness Consciousness – our recognition of wholeness – is the transcendent experience called healing. Healing is not a journey; not someplace we have to get to. Healing is a recognition, a knowing, an embracing, of where and of who we already are, and always, all ways have been.

Most of the books & articles I have read about changing social structures – you know, for “change” – actually describe more of what we’ve been doing for centuries, that we know does not work, proclaim to know is not working, and that it must change. But what many, if not most (trying to think of an example of why not All – “I’ll have to get back to ya on that!”) people are using the same thought process, just using a different language to describe it as if it were something new.

What’s the supposed Einstein quote people like to use: you can’t solve a problem from the same perspective that created the problem. OK, wildly paraphrased, perhaps. (I should go look it up & get it right – remind me later, ok?)

But it serves as my segue to this: NOTHING will elicit genuine change until we release our attachment to our old ideas about how things are/ must be.

A new process arises when we decide what we are choosing to experience, and then envision anew each individual choice we make to have that experience.

BUT EVEN THAT doesn’t work, won’t work, can’t work – until we CHANGE HOW WE ARE BE-ing.

The authentic self flow is: BE -> DO -> HAVE.

Who we truly are is the basis of all we experience. Next is the layer of HOW we are be-ing – which is dependent upon who we think we Are.

What we think, what we believe, determines what our experience will be.

Too often, people holding themselves out to be thought-leaders (or, help us all, evangelists)are simply presenting yet another model, based on re-vamps of previous models, of how we have come to determine that things/ life/ business/ social structures occur / should/ must occur.

Ideas based on prior models and previous understandings, but presented differently enough to stand out, to cause people to notice, to create a stir, and some conversation around it.

And having these conversations is not a bad thing ~ it can invite further insights and even action. But when the framework is still just flirting with thinking about having these glorious thoughts – it doesn’t get us where it is most beneficial and useful for us to be, in order to accomplish what we say we are choosing.

As long we are basing our thinking and assumptions in separation consciousness, NOTHING in our experience will change.

I’m so over being enamored of the conversation and gathering data and using scientific methods to try to prove or disprove blah-blah-blah. Scientific methods have been created to prove the (insane) separation-based way we have decided to view the world/ the universe/ existence.

I now choose be-ing in Oneness Consiousness. I AM.

And one of these days we really  need to examine what it is we think we’re doing with all those  “in-tensions” people keep setting….

Nothing changes as long as we are mired in and determined to hang onto separation consciousness as our reference point.

It is only in coming from the Point of Oneness/ Oneness Consciousness that we can shift out of this crazy mess (our declaration!) we have created. Individually and collectively.

I’m exhausted by theorists and their “paradigm-shifting” perspectives that are no more than more noise in the cacophony of chaos.

And I am way over the idea that we *must* have chaos in order to shift. Have you noticed? Chaos has been soooo done. We don’t need to keep doing it, or do it again, or perfect it (unless, of course, that’s what you’re here for… then go to it, I guess…)

Yeah, well this has been a rant. After I get some sleep, no doubt I’ll come and edit the heck out of this post – but I’m posting it as is, for now -

And in the Now, I choose the transfiguration, the transcendency illumination. Now let’s accept our Oneness and create our experience Anew. In the Peace and Joy and Love and Delight we say we choose.

What would happen if we motivated ourselves from a joy of/for life, rather than from fear/ resistance/ anger?

The energy we put into our efforts, our thoughts and emotions as we go about what we are doing, is the very same energy that emanates/ expands/ spreads from what we have created.

If we put the energy of frenzy and fear and anger into what we are creating – be it an event, a business, a work of art, dinner – anything – then those are the energies that emanate from that creation. Those are the energies people will respond to when they interact with that creation.

We can decide & choose to create from Love, Joy, Peace (since that’s what most people say they want to experience).

What would happen, if each of us, as an individual, made that choice, and followed up and followed through with that choice, living our lives?

Am I out of my mind? You betchya! :)

We are taught to base our lives on the passage of time; ritualistically marking and mapping the cycle of life; chopping them into years, months, days, minutes, seconds – even nanoseconds!

Then we take the system of measurement that we have devised, and act as if it is the immutable force that drives life itself.

We have created a framework for our experiences. Have we built a trellis, to support our on-going growth? or a box, limiting ourselves, blocking ourselves in?

In every moment of the timeless now, we can choose how to interact with each aspect of creation.

What, then, of time?
